By Deena Janel, Psychic Medium, Astral Whispers

Automatic writing, spirit writing and psychography are all names for the phenomenon characterized as writing words without consciously deciding what to put down on the paper. You could probably describe it as, “words coming straight from the pen.”

One thing that both scientists and skeptics agree on is that automatic writing is the result of the ideomotor effect. “Ideo” is just as it sounds, an idea, and “motor,” in this case, refers to muscular action. So, the ideomotor effect is a reflexive reaction that is outside the awareness of the individual participating in automatic writing.

I use automatic writing in my work as a psychic. I use it in some of my email readings, typed Facebook Messenger readings and phone readings, and in about 75% of the in-person readings I conduct.

On a personal level, when I want messages from Spirit or a note of encouragement, I go to automatic writing and channel my guides for direction or encouragement.

Professionally, automatic writing helped me develop my gift of clairaudience. I wasn’t even intending to develop that sense, but that is what transpired.

Most importantly, you don’t need to be a psychic or medium to use automatic writing. Anyone can try it. Just allow Spirit to flow through you. Use it to help with messages from Spirit, and call upon it when writing an essay for school, an email for work or any type of document that you’re having trouble writing because you might be judging yourself, or allowing your mind-chatter to take control.

If you’d like to get a better handle on automatic writing, or would like a reading using this Spirit-channeled technique, please contact me. I’d love to work with you.
