I think most people know what clairvoyance is. Maybe they don’t know how to define it, but they understand the feeling and that it is—an “alternate sense.”

But what many people don’t know is that there are eight “alternate senses,” and each one starts with the prefix “clair,” derived from the French word “clair” or in English, “clear.” I was born with five of them:

  • Clairvoyance: Clear Seeing
  • Claircognizance: Clear Knowing
  • Clairempathy: Clear Emotion
  • Clairaudience: Clear Hearing
  • Clairsentience: Clear Feeling

The other three are:

  • Clairgustance: Clear Tasting
  • Clairscent: Clear Smelling
  • Clairtangency: Clear Touching

Clairsenses is a word that includes any of the eight “clairs” that are related to the senses. And clairaudience is kind of what it sounds like. It is “clear audio.” It’s like hearing what nobody else in the room can hear.

When I am doing readings, I can, many times, hear what a client’s loved one sounded like when they were here on earth—how they spoke, the words they used, and whether they had a mild or fiery personality. I can tell whether they spoke with a South Philly accent, a dialect or even in another language.  And I can tell if they were a smoker and had a husky voice. Or, if they were breathless from a lung ailment they suffered in this life.

I can receive tones and vibrations from Spirit, and I can clearly hear whether they are speaking to me externally in my environment, or internally within my mind.

Another way my clairaudience works is through songs. Spirit will give me song lyrics as part of the message. If I don’t know the song (because they might only give me one lyric), I will look it up to understand what they are trying to convey. They will play that song over and over and over until I finally get the message or get it to the person the message is intended for. It is literally like having a radio playing in my head sometimes—a radio I can’t turn off! Sometimes, it even wakes me up in the middle of the night.

Do you think you might be clairaudient, too? Here are some questions to ponder:

  1. Do you tend to talk to yourself?
  2. Do you find yourself giving people great advice but don’t know where it comes from?
  3. Are you already in a job or career where you comfort or give advice?
  4. Do you come up with ideas that just come to you from nowhere while you’re driving, showering, or doing other everyday tasks?
  5. Do you hear messages from TV or radio that seem tailor-made for you?
  6. Have you heard someone else in the room speak, but when you ask them what they said, he or she didn’t say anything?

These are just some of the occurrences that might signal that you, too, are clairaudient. If you’re not, don’t even give it a thought. We all have gifts, and they all matter.

But if you are yearning to hear from a loved one on the other side, I can help you get in touch with them through Spirit. I would be honored to help you achieve the closure, healing or affirmation that you’ve been seeking.
