The Meaning of the Lemur in Shamanism
Are you partial to the Lemur? Do they show up in your dreams or in your waking life? It could mean that you’ve got a good sense of humor, or that you need to develop one.
If Lemur is popping up for you, it’s possible that you have certain abilities but are unaware of them. This is especially true on the spiritual and psychic level. Though Lemur has arresting eyes, she doesn’t necessarily depend on them to take in information. Likewise, she asks you to open your mind and use all your senses—including your psychic instincts.
If you’re about to begin a new venture, Lemur as a Spirit Animal, provides an upbeat attitude and positivity; and helps you navigate through, so you reach your goals in perfect time.
If you’re going to need lots of energy for what’s to come, Lemur is known for being active—always on the move—and for having good time management. They are very social, easy to talk to and almost anyone can find a mutual topic of conversation to have with them. They love to be in the spotlight, so get in touch with your extroverted side, as necessary.
According to Native American beliefs, you are born with your Totem Animal, and that animal stays with you for life. If Lemur is your Totem Animal, you are most likely a near perfectionist. But don’t be so hard on yourself! Remember that it’s okay to fail occasionally, so avoid unrealistic expectations that will leave you feeling unhappy.
On the negative side, people born under this totem can be superficial and narcissistic. They know how to defend themselves and stand their ground. Because of this, they are very good negotiators.
On the positive side, optimism is in their DNA. They smile at strangers, know how to have fun and communicate clearly and effectively. They are comfortable and excel in the communications field as public speakers, writers or event coordinators.
I mentioned dreams earlier, and I’d like to expand on that now.
Generally speaking, a Lemur appearing in your dreams could mean that someone in your life might not have your best interests at heart, and could even be trying to harm you in some way. Keep a watchful eye out in your waking hours.
Lemur hanging from a branch: This is your playful inner child, but be sure not to ignore your important obligations.
Lemur’s eyes are closed: There could be a mystery or misdirection in your past that you need to resolve. If Lemur’s eyes are the star of your dream, there could be something you’re not seeing, though it could be very important. Look around and be sure you are getting all the facts.
Female Lemur: This could symbolize fertility, or the need to protect your young. Stay aware!
Male Lemur: This represents order. Whatever you are trying to accomplish, be sure you are on the right path and leave no stone unturned.
Sunbathing Lemur: This symbolizes relaxation. Just be aware of the sun (or fire element) in your life.
Lemur eating fruit: This is a positive sign of growth.
Lemurs huddling: Be aware of those in your community and be sure you are building relationships within it.
Screeching Lemur: This is a warning of possible predators in your life.
Mother Lemur with her baby: This represents nurturing and loving. If there is a strong woman in your life, look to her for help.
Lemur on a raft in the water: You possibly have a trip in your future that will change you in positive ways.
